After intense brainstorming and hectic consultations with the alliance leaders of Mahakutami grand alliance, it is expected that out of 14 Assembly seats in Mahabubnagar, the Congress party has agreed to give 3 seats to TDP, while it is said to have decided to contest from all the remaining 11 seats in the upcoming elections
Mahbubnagar: After intense brainstorming and hectic consultations with the alliance leaders of Mahakutami (grand alliance), it is expected that out of 14 Assembly seats in Mahabubnagar, the Congress party has agreed to give 3 seats to TDP, while it is said to have decided to contest from all the remaining 11 seats in the upcoming elections.
However, there is no clarity on how many seats is the Congress ready to give to TJS, CPI and other alliance partners from Mahabubnagar. But as per information from the sources of the party, it is said that the Telangana Janasamithi is trying hard for Mahabubnagar seat.
Overall, one is yet not clear what would be the final outcome of the Congress party, until and unless a final list of candidates are released by the party high command in New Delhi. “A final proposed list of candidates from each constituency has been prepared and sent to the high command to take a final decision. Even the seat sharing decision between the grand alliance partners is yet to come to a final conclusion. In the next few days everything is expected to come out soon,” said a source from Congress in Mahbubnagar.
However, as per the internal party sources the party is expected to go in full swing and has decided to contest maximum seats in the district. Except for Devarkadra, Mahbubnagar and Wanaparthy, the Congress party has decided to contest all other seats.
As per the sources, the Congress has decided to allocate MLA seats to all the sitting candidates in the district. The candidature from the constituencies of Gadwal, Alampur, Kalwakurty, Shadnagar and Kodangal is expected to be retained by DK Aruna, Sampath Kumar, Vamshi Chand Reddy, Pratap Reddy and Revanth Reddy respectively.
Similarly, the constituencies of Jadcherla, Achampet, Narayanpet, Makthal, Nagarkurnool and Kollapur are expected to be given to the candidates who had contested earlier. Mallur Ravi is expected to contest from Jadcherla, Dr. Vamshi is expected to fight from Achampet, Nagam Jandardhan Reddy to stand from Nagarkurnool and Shivakumar from Narayanpet. However, a decision is yet to be announced to who will be contesting in Makthal constituency.
As part of the grand alliance, TDP is expected to field Yerrashekhar from Mahbubnagar, Dayakar Reddy from Devarkadra and Seetha Dayakar from Makthal. However, clarity on Wanaparthy seat is yet not come as the TDP’s Ravula Chandrasekhar is pitching for the seat from TDP, while the Congress party is in a tiff whether to part it or not as Chinna Reddy has been winning from the constituency since past 3 elections successively.
One has to wait and see, what will be the final outcome of the Congress high command and it is expected that things will come out clear only after the Dasara festival.
