Power crisis looms in Telangana due to cyclone titli

Telangana to reel under power crisis for next couple of days as the power lines of AP are being restored after cyclone Titli.

As the power lines between Talcher-Kolar and Angoor-Srikakulam have been damaged, the state may face a power deficit of 3000 MW, it is learned.

D Prabhakar Rao, Managing director of TS Genco and TS Transco said that they are trying to meet the power demand in the state by procuring it from the open market and hydel and thermal power stations in the state.

Rao also said that they are putting efforts to provide power supply to the state to avoid the disruptions to the people in the state.

On an average, the state utilises 10,500 MW of power and due to a shortfall in it, the people may experience disruptions in the next 2-3 days.
