Political parties warned against ignoring BCs in polls
The Telangana State Backward Classes Welfare Association TSBCA has warned all political parties for ignoring the backward communities and giving a raw deal in giving tickets to fight ensuing Assembly elections
Wanaparthy: The Telangana State Backward Classes Welfare Association (TSBCA) has warned all political parties for ignoring the backward communities and giving a raw deal in giving tickets to fight ensuing Assembly elections.
Addressing the media persons in Wanaparthy on Friday, Rachala Ugandhar Goud, State general secretary of TSBCA, said, “all political parties be it TRS, Congress or BJP are ignoring the BCs by not allocating MLA seats as per population ratio.
The BCs who constitute 60 per cent of population are given only 20 per cent seats, while the upper casts population who constitute just 5 per cent of the population are being given 80 per cent share in politics. This kind of attitude by the political parties clearly reflects their real character in providing social justice.”
While speaking at the BC Yuvajana Sangam workers meet at BPR gardens Kottakota on Friday, Yughandhar Goud said that the present TRS party has announced 35 seats to Reddy forward caste, while just 21 seats to the BC communities.
“What kind of social justice is the TRS party is doing for the BCs? They have confined the BCs by offering buffalos, sheep and fish, while on the other hand the upper caste Reddies who are not even half a per cent in the population are being given a major share in the politics. Is this not injustice,” questioned Yughandhar.
He also recollected that during the past 47 years of united Andhra Pradesh State before bifurcation, 14 chief ministers and even after formation of Telangana during the past 4 years, there are 42 MLAs are 6 Ministers represented the state from just 0.5 per cent population of Reddy community.
“The upper cast communities are arrogantly claiming that their traditional culture is to rule the majority of population. This attitude has been coming hereditarily among the upper caste people. And now the time has come the BCs should wake up and give a fitting reply if they are ignored by the political parties. These elections should be a warning to all the parties who ignore the majority BCs,” observed Yughandhar.
Yughandhar criticised the political parties that even after formation of the new State of Telangana the Backward Classes communities and SC and STs got nothing. The political system remained the same. It is like old wine in the new bottle.
