Malkajgiri: The disabled rights protection struggle committee on Wednesday demanded construction of ramps in government offices and schools for the benefit of persons with disabilities. In a representation to Medchal District Collector, committee member S Vinay stated that many differently-abled persons were fighting a survival battle in Malkajgiri division. They were facing hardships as they did not possess own houses and were unable to pay rents, and hence the representation pleaded for allotment of double bedroom houses to them.
The representation also demanded Antyodaya cards as some differently-abled persons were unable to feed their family consisting of 6-7 members, and they were receiving only 6-kg rice per head. Srinivas, Mallesh, Umakanth and Shivakumar were among those present at the meeting with the Collector.
