TRS, BJP developed sinister model to remain in power, charges Congress
Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday made it clear that voting for Telangana Rashtra Samithi was nothing but voting for Bharatiya Janata Party, and the people of Telangana should realise it
Hyderabad: Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday made it clear that voting for Telangana Rashtra Samithi was nothing but voting for Bharatiya Janata Party, and the people of Telangana should realise it.
Addressing the media during his visit to Hyderabad to participate in the Professional Congress programme and others, Tharoor said that the people have an opportunity to correct the mistake being done by them by voting to BJP at the Centre and the TRS at the State, in the upcoming elections.
He said that the speeches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were good before the elections, but he failed to deliver on his promises. There were lots of slogans in the past four-and-a-half years, but no implementation of them.
Tharoor said that though Narendra Modi has made a good diagnosis of problems but he failed to treat them by giving the right medicine. Due to the decision of the NDA government, lot of people have lost their jobs. Describing the demonetisation a criminal act, he said that it has taken away more than 13,000 jobs in the Tiruppur of Tamil Nadu.
He said that the Goods and Services Tax has become a botched activity and added that for selling a single commodity, a seller was forced to fill 37 types of forms and the implementation of the GST failed as there was no supporting internet backbone.
Tharoor said that the government has forgotten the wellbeing of farmers and as many as 4,500 farmers have committed suicides in Telangana alone.
He said that the Centre has been taking Rs 20 from each one litre of petrol being bought by the common man. It has been putting hands in the pockets of the common people.
“Similarly, the gas cylinder price has gone up to Rs 840 from Rs 390. With this, the Aam Aadmi is unable to see the Ache Din in his life,” said that former Union Minister.
Tharoor further alleged that the Centre has silently betrayed Telangana by not implementing the promises being made in the AP Reorganisation Act. He alleged that the TRS government of the State has been supporting the Centre in all its anti-people programmes.
Chandrashekar Rao was the first Chief Minister in the country to support the GST and demonetisation. He has been acting as a surrogate to the Centre, Tharoor criticised.
He alleged that though the TRS considers itself as a secular party, it has been supporting the BJP at the Centre. He alleged that the TRS has been crushing the freedom in the State and transparency was not ensured in the governance. As many as 30,000 GOs have been kept under confidential documents category.
He criticised the MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for supporting the TRS government and said that he has been indirectly supporting the BJP through TRS.
Tharoor said that BJP and TRS have developed a model to win elections. Under this, they loot the people and give something in return in the elections and come to power again. He called upon the people to reject this sinister model.
He alleged that the BJP was trying the international platforms for its own propaganda as the Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has taken the name of Modi for 10 times and India five times at her speech at the United Nations Organisation.
He strongly condemned the lathi charge and use of tear gas against farmers at Delhi and said that the BJP has betrayed the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’. Several new things were coming out in the Rafale deal and there are no answers to the questions raised by the Congress.
