​Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav on Wednesday inaugurated the All India Railway Pension Adalat, held at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad. Divisional Railway Managers of all six divisions i.e., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded participated through video conference. A total of 1, 610 representations were received in this Adalat. All the representations were examined and decided during the Adalat.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the South Central Railway is in the forefront and striving hard to redress the grievances of pensioners. He stated that retired employees are an integral part of the organisation and felt happy in interacting with the pensioners from all divisions and welcomed the suggestions made by them. He advised and instructed the officials that he would be happy and satisfied when the pending grievances of each one of the pensioners is solved. He requested the recognised unions and pensioners association to work collectively with administration to resolve issues.
Principal Chief Personnel Officer N V Ramana Reddy thanked the representatives of the Railway Pensioners’ Federation and Associations for bringing the grievances of pensioners to the notice of the administration which needs immediate redressal. He stated that SCR had been doing lot of innovative works like setting up of help desks over the zones especially for the benefits of retired employees.
Principal Financial Advisor Padmini Radhakrishnan stated that accounts department is working in tandem with personnel department with an aim to reduce the number of grievances at the pension adalats to bare minimum.
All India Retired Railway Employees’ Federation President Y N Sastry complemented the personnel department of SCR for resolving the issues very quickly.
He also said the association will always cooperate with the officials of SCR and work towards the betterment of pensioners. Various pensioners from six divisions spoke with GM/SCR and showered their appreciation towards the initiative of directly interacting with them and knowing the grievances. SCRMU General Secretary Ch Sankara Rao and members of the recognised trade unions also participated in the meeting.
The pension adalat had been organised at the behest of Department of Pensioners and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW), Ministry of Personnel and Public Grievance and Pensions, Government of India. While pension adalats have been organised regularly by Ministry of Railways, this is the first time this Adalat had been conducted along with all Central Government Ministries and Departments all over India. The Adalat in SCR covered the Zonal Headquarter, six Divisions and three Workshops.
