Heavy rains: Uprooted trees block highway

Nagarkurnool: Heavy rains and hail storm in Domalapenta village of Ambrabad mandal in Nagarkurnool district disrupted the traffic flow as the age-old trees fell on the road blocking the road.

As there was no immediate clearance of the uprooted trees the traffic was blocked for over a kilometre on the Srisailam Domalapenta route.

However, the police and officials from Roads and Buildings department are working to clear the roads as early as possible and trying to ease the heavily jammed traffic on the road.

“With heavy rains, winds and hail storms hit the Domalapenta area this evening, the old tree near the Ayyappa Swami Temple on the road side was uprooted falling across the Srisailam-Hyderabad highway.

We are clearing the tree from the road and trying to ease the traffic flow as early as possible,” said the Ambrabad Police.
