Former joint director of CBI V V Lakshminarayana, popularly known as JD, has said that building of a nation is possible only through selfless service activities
Hanamkonda (Warangal-U): Former joint director of CBI V V Lakshminarayana, popularly known as JD, has said that building of a nation is possible only through selfless service activities.
Speaking at a seminar - “Jaati Nirmanamulo Seva – Mana Patra” (Service in the building of a society – our role) organised under the aegis of Seva Bharati, Warangal, held at the Arts and Science College auditorium at Subedari in Hanamkonda on Sunday, Lakshminarayana said, the attitude of “Service for salvation” is innately imbibed in the Indian culture. Service has become a medium for a chance in society, he added.
He complimented the service activities taken up by Seva Bharati organisation across the country. A bright and prosperous India could be built only when the people in the society forget about their individual selfish gains and think for the society in a broad way and participate in the service activities.
“Whenever we find people in problems, our heart should immediately respond and then only a determination will blossom to serve the people. In order to bring in a positive change in the society everyone should have the quest to serve,” he said.
“In the Indian tradition, it is said that there are four kinds of Dharma and each individual should follow and respect them. They are individual, occupational, collective and social dharmas. These should be practised before we leave this world. An individual’s life will be completely fulfilled only when he chooses the service path.
Those who practice service activities are the need of the hour now. During the recent floods that hit the Kerala state, many western countries have come forward to extend financial assistance. But the people of our country have voluntarily have come forward and started service activities and extended all kinds of help to the people of Kerala.
That is the proof of the service attitude of the people of this country,” Lakshminarayana said. He said that society needs people like Mumbai woman Shaheen Mistry who has extended education to the destitute children through a service organisation called “Akanksha”, one Bindeshwar Pathak who had started the construction of Sulabh Complexes and filled the self-respect among the Safai Karmacharis, people like P C Sethi and Ramchandra Sharma, who had started artificial limb manufacturing at Jaipur and gave a new lease of life to the physically challenged people.
Dokka Seetamma who fed lakhs of people, organisations like Seva Bharati which is organising thousands of service programmes across the country stood as ideals to those who are service-minded, he added.
“Since long we are offering prayers to Lord Hanuman as the synonym to the service activity and for all those who has the service-oriented mind, Hanuman is a live example,” Lakshminarayana said, referring to the freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Sawarkar who used to say, “When we take birth we will get a body, once we die, we will go to the God’s abode by leaving this mortal remain (body). Between the body and the God one more thing is also there, i.e., the country and people should have the determination to serv the country.”
RSS South Central Field Seva Pramukh Ekka Chandrasekhar said that Seva Bharati is organising 1.75 lakh service activities across the country. All these service activities are being held without taking the financial assistance of the government.
At least 18 welfare hostels are being organised in Telangana alone and is filling the nationalism and service motto among the students. Several popular personalities from the Warangal town, educationists, doctors, advocates, businessmen, students of various colleges participated in the programme.
