The much hyped, publicized and the mammoth public meeting Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha organised by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Sunday at Kongara Kalan village of Rangareddy district left the leaders of both within and outside of TRS party along with the leaders of opposition parties are unable to tell whether the meeting fulfilled the purpose or not
Khammam/ Warangal/ Karimnagar: The much hyped, publicized and the mammoth public meeting Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha organised by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Sunday at Kongara Kalan village of Rangareddy district left the leaders of both within and outside of TRS party along with the leaders of opposition parties are unable to tell whether the meeting fulfilled the purpose or not.
It worth mentioning here that that Ministers, MPs, MLAs of the TRS party along with the leaders who are aspiring for tickets from the ruling party in the upcoming Assembly elections strived hard for mobilising thousands of people from their respective constituencies and to show their strength in that constituency.
One of the TRS leader said that the event was the first of its kind in the country and claimed to have mobilised more than 20 lakhs of people in about one lakh vehicles with around 60% of the local buses of the Road Transport Corporation diverting to the public meeting.
The meeting gave full energy to the village level leaders and are feeling proud to be a part of massive meeting, he added. However, the cancellation of buses in Khammam region by the RTC authorities drew sharp reaction from aggrieved passengers. Maximum numberof buses were deployed for the meeting by the local ruling party leaders by paying the prescribed hire charges in advance.
N Venkatrao, a private school teacher and resident of Khammam, said that the TRS leaders preferred only the buses which carry more passengers due to which many travelers were forced to hire private taxis as there was no other mode of transportation facility to reach the destination by paying extra fare.
Senior TDP leader and former minister Revuri Prakash Reddy in Warangal accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of spending crores of rupees for his party’s public meeting and said that the Pragathi Nivedana Sabha caused a lot of hardships to the common man.
He alleged that TRS spent Rs 15,000 on each tractor and paid Rs 500 to each person to attend the Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha. Former Congress MP Party Ponnam Prabhakar in a press meet held in Karimnagar questioned the TRS party for what the Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha was conducted, what good works and what pragathi took place in Telangana in four years of the TRS government.
Did they fulfill all pre-poll promises? Many issues which are pertaining in 31 districts after bifurcation were not solved until today. Apart from that the TRS misused official machinery for its meeting and wasted public money.
He said that with the Congress party gaining strength organisationally across the State, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already sensed a humiliating defeat in the next polls and is in an attempt to protect the party which is now sinking from the rising Congress wave conducted the PNS meeting which proved to be bane for it.
District secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist of Khammam unit Nunna Negeshwar Rao demanded an explanation from TRS leaders regarding the source of funding for the meeting conducted by the TRS party.
Without fulfilling the pre-poll promises, CM KCR by conducting PNS once again tried to deceive the people with his words, he observed
The district leader of the Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) of Warangal unit, Ambati Srinivas said that even though the PNS meeting turned out to be a mega show of strength and an occasion to present the progress report of the government in the last four years, the much-speculated boon was not attained by the TRS party.
However, the Pragati Nivedhana Sabha turned into a major boon for the youth associations, labourers and common people who attended the meeting by receiving money, liquor, food and other facilities from the TRS leaders, he alleged.
