The rank and file of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti are leaving no stone unturned to make the mother of all public meetings Pragati Nivedana Sabha a huge success The party leaders feel that this would be the biggest ever meeting in the country, which would never happen again in future
Hyderabad: The rank and file of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti are leaving no stone unturned to make the ‘mother of all public meetings’ Pragati Nivedana Sabha a huge success. The party leaders feel that this would be the biggest ever meeting in the country, which would never happen again in future.
According to sources, the party leadership has asked the leaders to bring about 20,000 to 25,000 from each Assembly constituency to the public meeting on September 2 at Kongara Kalan near Ibrahimpatnam. The meeting venue would be in about 500 acres of area and remaining 1,500 acres would be used for parking facility. The stage is 100 feet in length and 60 feet width and at a height of 10 feet.
The meeting stage can accommodate 600 persons but only 300 leaders of the party, including party state committee leaders, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, corporation chairmen would be allowed on the stage. The police have taken over the stage under their control on Friday itself. Thousands of police personnel would be deployed for ensuring security and safety to the VIPs and people. According to the TRS leaders there would be a road exclusively for Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao since he had desired to come to the meeting by road.
However, the police officials have suggested the Chief Minister to travel by helicopter and a temporary helipad is being made behind the venue. About 16 new roads have been laid near the venue for ensuring the people to reach the venue.
The ruling party would be using every transport facility available. The party is expecting 80,000 to one lakh vehicles coming to Kongara Kalan, including 7,300 RTC buses, 8,000 educational institution buses, 9,000 DCMs and lorries, 8,000 tractors and two-wheelers. IT Minister KT Rama Rao said that about 20,000 farmers would be coming to the venue in about 10,000 tractors on September 1. About 2,000 tractors have started for the public meeting from Khammam already. They have halted at Suryapet and they would reach the venue on Saturday. The tractors would not be allowed to enter ORR on September 2.
The TRS leaders said that party was making payment for every service taken. The party has paid Rs 4.5 lakh to the fire department and there would be 15 fire engines and five motorcycles. About 20 big cranes and 25 recovery vans would be placed near the venue to tackle the vehicle break down. About 50,000 chairs would be placed and remaining area would be covered by carpeting.
The party has already made the city pink with its huge flexis and welcome arches showing schemes and the work done by the government during the last four-and-a-half years. Rao said that arranging massive public meeting was not new to the TRS as it has been organising since the days of Telangana movement. Refusing that money was paid for crowd gathering, Rao said, “Why should anyone say that? Did we ask how much Congress party had spent in the recent meeting of Rahul Gandhi?
We have a registered membership of 46 lakhs and even if half of them turn up for the meeting, it will be a great success.” The minister has asked the people to avoid travelling on Sunday since the party would be utilising all modes of transport facilities for the public meeting.
