Mahbubnagar: Giving priority to locals in the recruitment of State level jobs by introducing the Zonal system in the State has received accolades from various quarters in Mahbubnagar district.
Particularly, the job aspirants from Palamuru University and those who are preparing for various jobs for the past 2-3 years have also expressed their happiness over the creation of new zones in Telangana State.
“Presidential approval for Zonal system in Telangana is a great opportunity for the lob aspirants of the respective local districts. Particularly, the district of Mahbubnagar had been at a greater disadvantage because most of the jobs in district were bagged by candidates of other districts like Nalagonda, Warangal or Khammam.
However, with the new zonal system, definitely it will help enable equitable job opportunities for all the locals in their respective districts,” observed N. Ramesh, a private employee working in Pharma SEZ in Jadcherla.
With the approval of zonal system, now the four districts of Wanaparthy, Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, and Mahbubnagar from erstwhile Mahbubnagar district including the recently carved out Vikarabad district from Ranga Reddy has also been grouped under 7th zone called Jogulamba zone.
This means, 95 per cent of all the jobs created within these districts will be given to the locals, while only 5 per cent jobs will be allocated to non-locals.
Earlier, because of lack of no proper educational facilities and very few degrees and PG colleges in Mahbubnagar compared to other districts, there were not many literates who completed up to graduation. Due to this majority of posts in the district were filled with candidates from Medak and Nalgonda districts.
The earlier zonal system had been a major disadvantage to the job aspirants in Mahbubnagar as they lost their share of jobs due to their inability to compete with students who are far ahead educationally. “Earlier Mahabubnagar district was included in the 6th zone and job aspirants from this district had to compete with candidates from Nalgonda, Medak, Rangareddy and Hyderabad for jobs.
“As already the district is literarily poor and majority of its population is migrating to other cities for labour work, most of the aspiring candidates could not compete and lost the opportunity to candidates from other districts,” said Pandu Nayak, a school assistant from Jadcherla.
Overall majority of people in the district have favoured the new zonal system and thanked the Chief Minister for helping the locals to get equitable opportunities in the jobs.
