Mahbubnagar: The Community party of India leaders blocked roads and staged protest at 16 tahasildar offices across Mahabubnagar district on Monday and took on the government for its failure on various fronts.
Speaking on the occasion, CPI Mahabubnagar district secretary Paramesh Goud said that the TRS Government had promised to provide at least 1 lakh double bedroom houses to the poor in each district, however the government could construct only 14,000 houses in the past 4 years. And that too the government is delaying the process of selecting the beneficiaries and not many real beneficiaries have got benefited from the double bed rooms.
“So far the government could construct only 14,000 double bedrooms against its promised 1 lakh houses to each district,” said Paramesh Goud. “During the past 4 years the TRS government had failed on many fronts. Out of more than 3.5 lakh landless Dalits in the district not even 1 per cent of them have got 3 acres of land announced by the government in the past 4 years,” he added.
The district CPI secretary also criticised the government over the recent implementation of Raitu Bandhu crop support scheme of providing Rs. 4,000 per acre to each farmer twice in one year. He said that more than 75 per cent of land is with the capitalists and large land lords, where as only 75 per cent land holding is with the real poor farmer.
“With Raitu Bhandu the government supported only the big land lords and capitalists who are having hundreds of acres under them. The CPI opposed this scheme because it is no way going to help the small farmers with one or two acres land.
Instead the government should have carefully studied and implemented the scheme to only those farmers who have less than 10 acres of land instead wasting public money by financing the already rich people having huge land holdings in their names,” observed the CPI secretary.
On the recent project of IT Park announced by KTR in Mahabubangar district, the CPI secretary felt that the government is paying peanuts to the farmers and grabbing valuable agriculture lands from the farmers and handing them over to rich corporates.
“Already there are hundreds of acres being given to big corporate companies in Polepally pharma SEZ, but till date except a few companies like Aurobindo and others majority of lands is still left vacant as those companies which had promised to set up industries have not fullfilled their promise even after years of allotment.
So we demand the government to take back that land and give it to the poor farmers if the corporates fail to start the industry,” demanded the CPI district secretary. The CPI party has also scheduled to take up the fight with the government and is further planning to lay siege to all the remaining 10 MRO offices on Monday.
