Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao ridiculed AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the latter would defeat Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Telangana and said it was better for Rahul Gandhi to make his party to win Assembly seats in his native constituency Amethi in the next elections.

Addressing the Small Scale Industries Association meeting held at Balanagar here on Sunday, Rama Rao said there were no people to recognise Rahul Gandhi as his party was facing continuous defeats. He pointed out that the Congress was facing defeat wherever Rahul stepped. The Congress was rejected in Uttar Pradesh where there were 400 Assembly seats.

He said the Congress had not given separate Telangana by seeing the problems of the people, but the separate Telangana was created with the sacrifices of lives of youth since 1969 movement. Rama Rao assured that the government would set up industrial park outside the Outer Ring Road. Earlier, he handed over bank loans to 271 SHGs in Moosapet Municipal office.
