Vodafone Idea has rolled out a new plan for its subscribers. It has launched Rs 24 minimum prepaid recharge plan to enhance the validity of an account. The plan comes a month after it was made compulsory to recharge the number with a minimum plan to enhance the expiring validity. Other telecom operators like Airtel, Tata Docomo have already introduced their minimum recharge plans.
The new Rs 24 plan moves an account’s expiry day by 28 days. It is available to all the prepaid customers of Idea and Vodafone across the country. It is important to state that the plan does provide any calling or data benefits. It is aimed at facilitating uninterrupted outgoing and incoming services when the customers run out of balance. It will benefit those who wish to extend their account expiry date to avoid its deactivation.
Under this new plan, prepaid users will get 100 minutes on-net night calling from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am. On-net means the call within the network, like Idea to Idea or Vodafone to Vodafone. Calls made on other networks will be charged at the rate of 2.5 paise per second. As part of the plan, users will be charged at 4 paise per 10KB for data. That will cost around Rs 4 for 1 MB. While in roaming, the charges changes to Rs 10 per MB per 10 paise per 10 KB.
The customers will also be charged at Re 1 per message for local SMS and Rs 1.5 per message for national SMS. Similar to this Airtel’s Rs 23 plan offer charges up to 2.5 paise per second, Rs 1 for sending local SMS and Rs 1.5 for sending national messages. This also comes with a validity of 28 days.
