Meanwhile, with a solitary goal by Tom Carson in the forty seventh minute on Belgium, England remained unbeaten in the Hero Hockey World League Final here at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi today.

Oliver Korn hit a field goal to reduce the margin. Indians moved brilliantly with ease and faltered very less. But the euphoria was short lived. Australia which mowed down Argentina 6-1 earlier, found their spirits back. Just before the fag end of the first half Jason Wilson scored the equaliser making it two goals each and at the last third minute Glenn Turner hit the third goal and took Australia into lead by 3-2 at the half time. It was a horror story in the second half. India had a number of chances to go ahead. But they never found the target. Attempts were close but not effective. Australia proved to be too strong.
For Australia Russel Ford scored two of the seven goals. The rest were scored by Nicholas Budgeon, Glenn Turner, Jason Wilson, Simon Orchard. For India it was Birendra Lakra and Yuvaraj Walmiki who scored the goals.
In the other match, Netherlands scored two goals in the early minutes of first half out of which one was penalty corner in the very first minute. It was scored by Mink van der Weerden. In the sixth minute Seve van Ass sent into the goal a close thunder. And they maintained that lead. A couple of good shots were ably blocked by the Goal Keeper Jaap Stockmann of Netherlands.
The Argentina and New Zealand match was a thriller before the former won 4-3.
