Even as the nation gears up to welcome a new state that is almost on the verge of becoming a reality, here's a poem sent by one of our readers...
When I look in the river
What do I see?
A life full of nothing
But treacherous misery
A life full of deception
A life forced into submission
A life full of tension
And humiliation
A life full of ruthless injustices
In all colors and shades
From the violation of my rights
To mutilation with blades
A life of a Telangnite
Sailing against the tide
Struggling towards the shore
In search of his pride
A life of a middle-aged man
With a simple dream
To get my river Godavari liberated and
Live like a tranquil stream
A life of a young man
Feeing lost in a crowd
Searching for a past
That is yet to be found
A life of apparently silent witnesses
Watching from the outside
The rape of my Telanganga
But crying on the inside
A lifeguilt
For not knowing what to do
Standing helpless
Before a horrendous view
A life of obsession
For “The Right to Liberate My State“
Which devours me like a fire
That never ceases to substantiate
So I look in the River Godavari (Eturnagaram)
With an axe in hand
Smash this image of (Seem Andhra Leaders)
Before with I stand
Nalgonda district has
Nagarjunasagar dam
But people around it
Cannot drink its waters from a can
Vampires cannot live among themselves
They must live among Muslims, Christian, Hindus and others,
Who don’t belong to their race
To help themselves and reap favors
