Bengaluru: Election Commission officials have initiated the process for deletion of 13,544 Rajarajeshwari Nagar(RR Nagar) voters’ names from the draft list during the ongoing summary revision of electoral rolls in the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Summary revision began on October 11 and as on November 11, 5331 names are yet to be deleted. A door-to-door visit is to be undertaken to identify voters who are dead/untraceable or changed addresses before the deletion. Removal of 8213 RR Nagar voters’ names has been approved awaiting permission for the rest. There are 4.7 lakh voters in RR Nagar constituency.

After RR Nagar, Chickpet accounts for the maximum deletion applications (7,378). In Pulakeshnagar, the figure stands at 7,048 including 5606 which have been cleared for removal.

Earlier this year, 9746 voter ID cards were seized by from a flat in RR Nagar during the assembly elections.
