Vijayawada: Minister for Medical Education and Health Kondru Murali has said that all is set for modernising the medical college and developing the Super specialty hospital. Vijayawada will become a well-equipped healthy city after completion of these two major projects, he said. Addressing reporters here on Sunday, the Minister said that the super specialty hospital would be built with a budget of Rs 290 crore on the premises of the Dr NTR University of Health Sciences. “The government is looking for about 100 acres of land to begin the construction and work.

The State Public Service Commission has started the process of recruiting 1200 doctors and 400 assistant professors into hospitals,” said Kondru Murali. He announced that very soon health cards would be issued to the employees of municipal corporation, municipalities, lawyers and journalists beside government employees. Apart from that, government sanctioned permission to set up medical colleges in West Godavari, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Vizianagaram districts, said Kondru Murali.
