Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Wednesday handed over appointment orders to the widows of two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers who were killed in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Palaniswami gave the appointment letters to S. Krishnaveni, widow of G. Subramanian, and S. Gandhimathi, widow of C. Sivachandran, at the state secretariat here.

The Chief Minister had earlier announced that government jobs would be given to one of the family members of the slain CRPF troopers.

Financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh each was given to the family members of the two CRPF personnel.
