BENGALURU: On Saturday the Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda inaugurated some long-pending railway projects in the city.
For the redevelopment of Yeshwantpur railway station a foundation stone will be laid. The station is likely to have airport-like facilities, including upgraded passenger amenities.
The Rs 1.9-crore project of the foot overbridge, connecting platform no. 10 of Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru City) railway station along with City Railway Metro station on the Purple Line, which was proposed in the year 2013 and has already missed multiple deadlines, will also be inaugurated.
The Metro station is being operated since 2016. As the platforms 1 to 10 are already linked, passengers have been using the MG Railway Colony Road which is poorly lit and filled with garbage followed by climbing 65 steps to reach platform no. 10 of the railway station.
