Chandrababu needs something to blame for his imminent defeat: YS Jagan
YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has moved the Election Commission EC about the large scale irregularities in the voters list and the gross misuse of official machinery besides nepotism by Chandrababu Naidu government and sought immediate remedial steps to ensure a free and fair election in Andhra Pradesh
YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has moved the Election Commission (EC) about the large scale irregularities in the voters list and the gross misuse of official machinery besides nepotism by Chandrababu Naidu government and sought immediate remedial steps to ensure a free and fair election in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media after submitting a representing to the Election Commission he said, ‘we lodged a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner urging him to intervene and check the large scale irregularities in tampering of the electoral rolls and misusing the police force for political gains by Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP government in the State as he was making a mockery of democracy. Our complaint was based on unflinching evidence and data to corroborate with our complaint.
In the first place, we gave the Election Commission the data of over 59.18 lakh ineligible voters who were included in the list of which 20 lakh people have double votes in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh while the remaining 20 lakh have double votes within the state. While this exercise was done to swell their votes, they have taken up enumeration process in the name of various surveys to identify YSRCP sympathisers and are deleting their names to double up the effect, he said.
We have provide ample evidence to prove our point and at the same time we said that police machinery is being misused by TDP government and they are actively involved in parking of funds running to over Rs 5,000 cores in various constituencies ahead of elections for distribution.
This apart Chandrababu Naidu has upgraded or created new posts to accommodate people of his own community and there cannot be a free and fair elections unless the three top officials are shifted immediately as they have been working at the beck and call of the political needs of the TDP leadership, he said.
The State DGP RP Thakur, is an old associate of Chandrababu Naidu and has been functioning like a Party worker. When there was an attempt on my life at Vizag airport, he read out the script prepared by the Chief Minister, even before proper investigation of the case and has been trying to play down the incident of the attack on Leader of Opposition as if it was a stray incident.
The Additional DGP Mr Venkateswara Rao and a newly created post of DIG Law and Order (Coordination), Gattamaneni Srinivas, who belong to the same community of Chandrababu Naidu, along with DGP are the three top officials who are being used to manipulate the mandate. If these three continue in their posts, the elections would not be free and fair, he said and sought the intervention of the EC in reliving them from election duty.
There were 37 out-of-turn promotions in the police department. Some of the Inspectors were promoted as DSPs and 35 belong to the same community that of Chandrababu Naidu and one other rank promotee’s spouse is from the same community, which shows the extent of nepotism of Chandrababu Naidu, he said.
Unless the three officers are shifted and the corrective measures are taken in finalisation of electoral rolls, there cannot be free and fair elections in the State.
When asked about the complain Chandrababu Naidu would be lodging about the malfunctioning of EVMs, he said, ‘he needs someone or something to blame for his imminent defeat. In 2014 elections which he won by a slender margin of 1 % votes, he did not complain of EVMs. The Party which did not do well in the recent state elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh did not complain but what this man is trying to do is to take cover on one pretext or the other after the poll debacle, he said.
