BENGALURU: On Sunday a 55-year-old passenger was saved from falling between a moving train and the platform gap by an alert Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable at the Hospet railway station.

The incident took place when the Train 56910 Hospet- KSR Bengaluru passenger was leaving from Hospet station at 2.05 PM for Bengaluru. Gourav who had boarded the moving train from Platform 1 but unfortunately slipped from the door and fell.

Constable Harisha C, luckily was standing on the platform near the coach, as he swiftly pulled him out of the gap between the platform and the train to save his life. “Rail users and others on the platform appreciated his quick thinking,” said a South Western Railway (SWR) official.

A video of Harisha saving the life of Gaurav has gone viral. Ajay Kumar Singh, the general manager, SWR, will be presenting him an award for his bravery and commendable work.
