Bengaluru: Namma Metro service on Purple Line is unlikely to be disrupted over the weekend. A senior BMCRL official said they’re looking for a permanent solution as BMCRL is mulling suspension of services between MG Road and Indira Nagar Station for a final repair work at Trinity Station.

On December 9, “ a minor aberration in girder alignment” following a honeycomb concreting defect (hollow spaces in precast concrete) was detected in a viaduct beam above a pier. “ There is no threat to structures and pillars. We’re chalking out a plan to take up major repair work including grouting and curing for two days on weekends. We’ll inform users three days in advance once the plan is finalized.” added the senior official.

BMCRL will operate free shuttle services between MG road and Indiranagar when the services are suspended. BMCRL has no revealed the dates of suspension yet. Namma Metro usually extends the duration of service on December 31.
