DEO seeks cooperation of political parties in revision of electoral rolls

Hyderabad : GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad District Electoral Officer M. Dana Kishore has appealed all the representatives of political parties to play a vital role and actively participate in the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls. He asked them to appoint Booth Level Agents at the polling stations for better coordination for the revision of electoral rolls with the BLOs for effective implementation of the enrolment which is going to start from 26th of December.
The DEO held a special meeting with the political parties with regard to rationalization of Polling Stations today at GHMC Head Office. While interacting with the representatives, the DEO requested the representatives to give their suggestions for effective working with regard to Special Summary Revision where lot of suggestions have been given by the political parties that provide a centre taking 3 to 4 polling stations at a particular centre where one Operator and official along with the concerned BLO be available there for the new enrolment which will be easier and convenient to the new voters to enroll their names.
Dana Kishore assured that every suggestion given by the political parties would be looked into after the clear instructions of the CEO and requested them to coordinate with the entire staff on special summary revision with which the targets and the enrollment made by the electors will be done with clear transparency.
The Representatives requested the DEO to fix up the responsibility to the EROs and other connected officials who are working for the cause if any irregularities made by them must be viewed seriously as per the guidelines of the ECI etc., they have also stated that lot of names in the electoral rolls were missing and the family those who are having votes are being allotted different polling stations for which much inconvenience have been faced by the voters due to which most of the voters could not cast their vote in the elections.
They have also requested to utilize the modern technology for the above said cause and the political parties will also help the GHMC for effective working during this Special Summary Revision as on 01.01.2019.
The DEO said that the GHMC is involving various NGOs, RWAs and other social organizations for the coming Special Summary Revision duly requesting them to appoint volunteers who will work along with the BLAs for the new voters enrollment from 26th of December 2018.
Dana Kishore appealed all the voters who have attain the age of 18 as on 01.01.2019 are requested to enroll their names through online, offline and whose names have been missed in the electoral rolls they may also fill the form No. 6,7 and 8 which will be verified by the concerned ERO during the Special Summary Revision. This process will go on up till 25th of January, all the forms received will be verified thoroughly till February 11th, the printing of electoral rolls will be taken up from 18th February and the final electoral rolls will be published by 22nd of February said the DEO.
The DEO said that special campaigns will be conducted on all the Sundays from 26th December to 25th January 2019 where all the voters can participate to check their names and as well as to feed the information about the shifting of the residents during the special campaign at their respective polling stations where BLOs and Election officials will be available for their convenience.
He stated that the officers who have neglected their duties in the elections found will be viewed seriously and severe action will be taken against them.
Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy, MIM MLC Syed Amin Jaffri, BJP MLA T. Raja Singh and various representatives from the political parties, some of the ROs and senior officials of the election wing have participated in the meeting.
