Telangana Assembly Elections 2018: Lagadapati says Peoples Front has clear edge
Former MP and Andhra Octopus Lagadapati Rajagopal on Tuesday predicted that the Congress led Peoples Front has a clear edge over the rival Telangana Rashtra Samithi
Hyderabad: Former MP and Andhra Octopus Lagadapati Rajagopal on Tuesday predicted that the Congress led Peoples Front has a clear edge over the rival Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Addressing the media, he said that the Peoples Front could win majority of the seats in four districts, TRS would win more number of seats in three districts and the fight is neck to neck in two districts. He said that in Hyderabad MIM would get more seats and the TRS, Congress and BJP would share the rest.
Lagadapati who was known for his near accurate predictions of the poll outcomes has come out with yet another survey report on the quite interesting election in Telangana. He said that the result depends on the poll percentage and said that he would reveal the factors that have influenced the electorate on December 7, after the end of the polling.
He said that he has been revealing the reports of the survey since entire nation has been looking at Telangana. He said that early polls have raised the interest among the voters.
Rajagopal said that the Congress led front would get more seats in old Khammam, Adilabad, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts. He said that TRS would win more number of seats in old Warangal, Nizamabad and Medak. The rivals are engaged in close contest in old Mahabubnagar and Karimnagar districts.
He also revealed three more names of independents who are likely to win. He said that Malreddy Ranga Reddy from Ibrahimpatnam, G Vinod from Bellampally and Jalandhar Reddy from Makthal are set to win. Already Rajagopal revealed the names of two independents, Anil Jadav from Both, and Sivakumar Reddy from Narayanapet who would win. So far he has revealed the name of five independents who could win. In his recent visit to Tirupati, Rajagopal, on repeated requests of media, agreed to reveal names of eight to 10 independents who would win.
Rajagopal said the outcome of the polls depends mostly on the poll percentage. The percentage of polling was 68.5 per cent in the 2014 election. If the poll percentage raises above that, it could be understood that anti establishment wave has been working as under current. If the percentage is less than that it may lead to hung Assembly.
He said that he would also observe the polling situation in the next 24 hours and said that he would try to give more names of independents who could win. He said that he do not want to give names of more independents who could win since some of his friends were in the fray and did not want revelation of the result.
He said that he has held the survey in October with the help of his friend Erravalli Srinivas. He said that the same agency has held a survey in September and predicted that TRS would win the election.
He said that the poll outcome would be affected by the alliance between Congress and Telugu Desam, promises of the parties and the mode of campaign in the past one month.
Interestingly Rajagopal said that this time the number of BJP seats would increase and these seats are spread all over the state. He said that about 8 independents candidates would win surely and said that two more were engaged in a close contest.
Rajgopal said that currently he was not associated with any political party. He said that he was not expecting any benefits from either Telangana or the AP Chief Ministers. He said that he met K Chandrasekhara Rao once and Chandrababu Naidu twice.
