Srikakulam: All employees, workers, labour and peoples’ organizations expressed their absolute solidarity to the ongoing agitation of Aurabindo Pharmaceutical company workers. All the unions conducted a unite meet at Pydibhimavaram in Ranastalam mandal under the aegis of CITU.

Speaking on the occasion CITU state vice president, Duppala Govinda Rao found fault with the Aurabindo management for not solving charter of demands of workers for the last eight months. He demanded for enhancement of salaries of workers on par with market rates, placement for local qualified youth and allotment of funds for development of affected villages due to the company pollution. The CITU leader lamented the management’s foolish and negligent attitude towards its workers and their safety and the management also violating labour and environmental laws due to which workers and residents of surrounding villages are suffering.

Representatives of Vyabasaya Karmika Sangham, AP Rythu Sangham, Mahila Sangham, Bhavana Nirmana Karmika Sangham also spoke. Leaders of workers unions of Sampistons Company, United Beverages Company, Varam Power Plant, Dr Reddy’s laboratories, Aasha workers union, mid-day meal workers association also attended and expressed their support.

The workers union of Aurabindo announced that they will go on strike from 11 December by demanding to solve their pending issues.
