Kin of missing children flock to Yadadri

Yadagirigutta: Parents of missing children are arriving in this pilgrimage town in the hope that they could find their daughter among those rescued from the brothels here a few days ago.

Matham Dibbaiah and his wife Visrantham from Markapuram in Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh came all the way to Yadadri to get back their daughter. They claimed that Mounika, the seven-year-old girl, who was one among the rescued girls, is their daughter. She went missing when she was five-and-half-year old.

Another couple from a colony in Hyderabad also approached the Yadagirigutta police in a fond hope that they find their abducted daughter among the rescued children.

A total of 15 parents had approached the police during the last four days. The police told those, who approached them, that the parentage of the rescued children would be confirmed through DNA test.

Even as the police continue the manhunt for those accused of child trafficking, the District Medical Health Department officials sealed a hospital, named Anuradha Nursing Home, run by an alleged quack.

The hospital acquired notoriety as the police found that the alleged quack had administered hormone injections to the children, when they were held by the brothel owners and pimps for attaining early puberty.

Special teams have also launched manhunt for two more quacks, known in local parlance as RMP doctors, as they were allegedly hand-in-glove with the brothel owns.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police E Ramachandra Reddy said a total of seven persons were arrested in Chinna Palagu Thanda under Gurrala Dhandi village on charg of selling children. He warned that the police would take stringent action against child traffickers.
