Speaking to The Hans India, Kanaka Durga, member, Sayodhya says, “We have been making cloth bags for almost 18 months now, but it is catching up in the last few months. People are warming up to the idea especially after the state government’s intention to ban single-use plastic.”

There are two units at Bagh Amberpet and Amberpet and in both units put together there are 35 women who make cloth and jute bags. The bags come in two sizes; the bigger one is priced at Rs 190 and the smaller one between Rs 20 and Rs 30. The units also make clay pots in varying sizes and shapes to store food.
