Progressive farmers and entrepreneurs interested in latest farm equipment all made the Agritex 2017 a hub of excited activity recently.
The three-day conference-cum-Exhibition held at the HiTEX Grounds in Hitec City drew many visitors, especially agriculture students from the Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University and affiliated colleges.
The most modern farm equipment on display and the innovative concepts proposed by the clutch of startup companies that set up stalls at the exhibition were a big hit with the visitors. Young farmers swarmed startup stalls that offered new online marketing avenues and ideas on generating increased incomes through shared utilization of farm equipment.
The fifth edition of the Agritex has 100 stalls set up by global companies from England and Italy, besides some top Indian players. The high-end technological equipment on display relates to related to agriculture, horticulture, dairy, aqua culture and food processing sectors.
As many as 35 startups pitched are participating in the exhibition, offering innovative marketing options for farmers and other innovative concepts to make agriculture lucrative.
Sandeep Babbar, India representative of Italy’s SACE explained, “Businessmen engaged in exports should ideally explore funding from export promotion agency of whichever country they are targeting.
Italy’s SACE offers suppliers credit to businessmen purchasing Italian equipment which if availed can help them use their bank credit lines for other capital needs.”
“The steep increase in visitors to the Agritex is a positive sign and reflects the growing appeal of the sector among the current generation. The exhibition has provided a great opportunity for farmers to familiarise themselves with modern technology and concepts. We are confident, the take away benefits them extensively,” said Prema Zilberman of Kenes Exhibitions, which is organising the Agritex 2017 in association with Government of Telangana.
