Gurugram: Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, on Sunday, asked students to inspire others rather than wait to be inspired. Delivering the Convocation he Address at BML Munjal University’s third Convocation, he said that ‘Aspirational India’ needs socially conscious and professionally competent youth, who will lend a helping hand in meeting the challenges of growth and industrial development.

Pranab Mukherjee was the Chief Guest at the Convocation while Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO, OYO Rooms was the Guest of Honour. Over 300 students from BML Munjal University’s School of Management and School of Engineering and Technology were conferred with degrees on successful completion of MBA, BBA, and B.Com. (H) And B. Tech. programmes.

“Our glorious nation’s future relies on you all. You are going to be a part of the country’s scientific, engineering and technological manpower, which is a crucial constituent of our developmental framework. It is incumbent on you to lend your hand in meeting the challenges of growth and industrial development. I am confident that you will more than fulfil the responsibilities entrusted upon you, provided you continue to work with dedication, perseverance, hard work and imagination,” added Pranab Mukherjee during the Convocation Address.

Delivering the Guest of Honour address, Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO, OYO Rooms said “Education is an enabler, a stepping stone. Starting today, challenge yourself to put to test and implement all that you’ve learned during your time at BMU. Do strike a balance – don’t take your education for granted and, at the same time, don’t be limited by it. There are a plethora of opportunities in India today – more than ever before. All that’s needed is for the young to recognize them, step forward and grab them.”

In his address, Sunil Kant Munjal, Chancellor, BML Munjal University congratulated the graduating students. He also thanked Mukherjee and Agarwal for their presence and for their words of encouragement to the university and the students.
