Adilabad: The State government’s prestigious scheme to distribute sheep to the Golla, Kurma communities will begin from Tuesday. Beneficiaries were already identified at the village level.
The beneficiaries have to bear 25% while government will bear remaining 75% of the total expenditure. Each beneficiary will be paid Rs 31, 250 each while the government is paying Rs 93, 750. There are 133 societies which are registered in the district with 8,590 members.
The State government is distributing sheep to 4,323 beneficiaries in the first phase and remaining people will get them during the second phase, next year.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, District Animal Husbandry Officer Ramarao Rathod said that 90,783 sheep would be distributed in the first phase in Adilabad.
He said that all the necessary arrangements were made to transport sheep to the beneficiaries and insurance is also provided for them. Minister for Environment and Forests Joguramanna would launch the programme in the district in Talamadugu mandal and Minister for Housing and Law A Indrakaran Reddy would distribute sheep in Gopalraopet mandal, he added.
In Nirmal district, 217 societies were registered with 14, 422 members. As many as 7148 beneficiaries will get 1, 50, 108 sheep in the first phase. There are 156 societies in Mancheriyal district where 5,830 people will get the sheep in the first phase and 5830 during the second phase. The distribution programme will be held at Namnur, Kasipet, Jannaram, Kishapur and Bhimapur Madikal.
There are 183 societies in the Asifabad district where 2,227 people will be benefitted in the first phase and 2,190 will get the sheep during the second phase.
