Visakhapatnam: The organisers of Aero Sports sought more attention and support from the local authorities and bodies to promote the sport in particular and tourism in general. As part of taking tourism to the next level in the state, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has introduced the paramotoring at Rushikonda beach by inviting private players to provide Aero Sports services. Apparently, the much needed breakthrough in tourism is drawing tourists from far and near to the port city, not only for its picturesque locations but adventure sports too.

India’s only paramotoring company recognised by International Paramotor Association, Sky School India, has set up its second unit of Aero services at the Rushikonda beach after establishing at Jaipur. It is also gearing up to provide a 12-day training programme to give wings to the adventure lovers to fly solo on paramotors from January after some of the enthusiastic people throwing their age in the air, even in their 70s are also enjoying paramotoring at Vizag. Speaking to Hans India, Abhay Rathore who is India’s first licensed APPI PPG (international paramotoring organisation) pilot said that they are getting enough response and the city has that vibe with beach and hills.

“As we are offering the para motoring ride at Rs 2,500 in Vizag the response is so much, that we have to return the ticket money at times. The ride continues for 6-km around Rushikonda to Ramanaidu Film Studio at a high of 800 feet to 1000 feet, Abhay Rathore said.

The passion for adventure aero sports has brought Abhay and his wife Vedika to set up their second unit here in Vizag after Rajasthan. The organisers urged for support from the local governing bodies as they have all permission from the state government and tourism as well. “We just need the little support required to operate from the government and to operate without any hurdles. "The company has made provision for third party insurance of up to Rs 1 crore alone for the rider apart from the flying machine and hired trained pilots.”
