​Hyderabad: A five-day faculty development programme (FDP) on” Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technologies (HEVT-2018)” from December 11 -15 is being organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of MVGR College of Engineering (A), Vizianagaram. This was inaugurated by the chief guest of the occasion Prof. K.Munshi ,Former HOD Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay and Director, CTech Labs Pvt.Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion HOD Mechanical and Convener of the program Dr S Adinarayana has stressed on the challenges like pollution, scarce of fuel, manufacturing costs etc., faced by using IC Engines and the need for adaption to Hybrid and Electric vehicles to encounter the challenges Principal of the college Dr K V L Raju addressing the gathering has said about improving the design of a system to decrease pollution and mentioned about technology evolution. He also said that the best solution for energy replenishment for the hybrid vehicles is alternate sources of energy like solar and wind energies.
Guest of honour Adithi Gajapathi Raju speaking on the occasion mentioned about the thought process has to be changed in the fast-changing technology and people has to adapt to the technology which benefits the society. Chief guest of the occasion Prof K Munshi, addressed the importance of Hybrid and Electric vehicles, current advances in automotive and emission reduction technologies and challenges in the development of electric vehicles and battery management systems. He also has given a key note address on Sustainable Electric Vehicle Mobility Initiatives.
Around 50 faculty from various premier institutions attended the FDP. Vice Principal Dr Y M C Sekhar, Coordinators of the programme Dr. N. Ravi Kumar and Dr M K Naidu, faculty and students of Department of Mechanical engineering have attended the inaugural
