Fear of the unknown defeats people – HR message from nature

Why most of the people in corporate are scared to change the organization even when they realize that they have little scope for growth in the organization in which they work. They feel shy and reluctant to leave the organization because they are not sure of the ecosystem in other organizations. They often relate and link their situations (ecosystem) and people around them to their success or failure. Ironically many such people may have enormous capabilities and knowledge.
Nature has a wonderful management message for such people in corporate. The herbivores animals are created only after creating abundant plants in nature. Only after abundant herbivores animals are created, wide variety of carnivores animals are created. If we look at the ratio of producer-herbivore-carnivore or other wise it is called the ecological pyramid, one can understand the fact that only after creating enormous opportunity, different species of animals are created. No life form is created before its opportunity (the food and place to live) is made ready.
Similarly no corporate employee should think that they may not have sufficient opportunity elsewhere and hence they have to continue in the same organization. People often get scared to explore opportunities elsewhere and make self defeating compromises and lead a life of sorrow, complaints and repentance. Most of them tend to suppress their talents and capabilities and fear that exploring the talent and capabilities can only risk them and hence it is not wise to risk the career.
Perhaps opportunity alone would have favoured diversity but adversity only has brought several adaptation (success) traits in different species of animals. All prey animals despite knowing fully well about the threat to their life still lives in forest ecosystem mainly because of their self belief. As a result animals continuously adapt and successful.
Undue anxiety about how things would be in new organization is meaningless and it shows nothing but the lack of self belief and lack of anchorage on own talents and capabilities. Continuing in the same organization may cause ‘adaptation atrophy’ and lead to traits that are extremely endemic to the given corporate ecosystem. Once such development is attained, people may choose to endure humiliations and denials rather than exploring newer opportunities by believing in the self.
People should never get stuck to fear and anxiety but instead must be travelers of new lands. Be a migrant than be a resident is the message nature conveys to the corporate people. Opportunity is plenty for every one to explore and experiment but such opportunities may not be visible in the way that people wants to see.
Never to stick to the same organization that fails to recognize your talents and contributions and never compromise or make deal with fear and anxiety.
