Hyderabad: Admissions into first year Intermediate courses in all government, private aided, private un-aided, residential, social welfare, tribal welfare, incentive junior colleges and composite degree colleges will commence from May 26 with the sale of applications and the last date to apply will be June 30. The first phase admissions will be made on June 4 and the last date will be June 30.
The schedule of second phase of admissions will be announced later, according to Ram Shankar Naik, Secretary of Board of Intermediate Education.
The classes for first and second year Intermediate course will commence from June 4.
Naik made it clear that no admission test shall be conducted in any colleges and admissions shall be solely on the basis of merit i.e. GPA and subject-wise grades and reservation. "Stringent action will be taken against the junior colleges making admissions on any other basis,” he warned.
The board has directed all the principals to make provisional admissions on the basis of online marks memos. They will be confirmed after the production of original SSC pass certificate and transfer certificate issued by the school authorities, where they last studied.
Intermediate Board made it clear that one third of seats- i.e. 33.3 percent of seats- in all co-education colleges-where there are no separate colleges for girls- shall be allotted to girls.
The other rules of reservation i.e. 29 per cent for BCs, 15 per cent for SCs, six per cent for STs, three per cent for PH, five per cent for NCC, sports and extra-curricular activities and three per cent for children of ex-servicemen will continue.
“Admissions shall be made only up to the sanctioned sections and up to the ceiling strength of 88 in each section. No admissions should be in the combinations dropped by the board. The admission into additional sections should be made only after the permission is issued by the board. Violation, if any, will be liable for action including levying of penalty and disaffiliation of the college,” Naik made it clear.
The board has asked all the managements to display at the entrance of the building the number of sections sanctioned for the academic year 2014-2015, the number of seats filled up in each section and the number of seats vacant in each section. This information should be updated on a daily basis, it said.
