He came, he spoke and said Aham Brahmasmi before leaving Guntur. This is how one can summarise the visit of Narendra Modi, first one after handing over clay and water to the state in October 2015.
It is time the politicians particularly those who call themselves disciplined and honest to show greater sense of maturity and statesman-like qualities. Such leaders should realise that by speaking few words in the native language of the place or remembering some great personalities who were born there they can win the hearts of people, they are mistaken. The way Modi spoke Telugu with Gujarati accent was unpalatable.
Knowing fully well that Modi’s blistering attack on the Chief Minister has not helped the party to regain even a centimetre of lost ground, the BJP war horses say that Prime Minister had made a mincemeat of Naidu. While the results will speak who has made mincemeat of whom, the fact is that those who translated his speech into Telugu made mincemeat of what Modi spoke in Hindi.
If reactions on the social media like Facebook are any indication, the message is loud and clear that people have not accepted what Modi said. One comment said, “We agree that BJP spent its own money for this public meeting and Naidu is spending government money but still we don’t believe you Modi.”
Another comment was “We appreciate you remembering Gurram Jasuah, Vavilala Gopalakrishnaiah and Nayudamma but still we don’t believe you Modi.” Another comment was on ‘Son rise’ and CBN sticker on central schemes. It said, “Did you not see Son rise when you played with Naidu’s grandson.” On TDP sticker to central schemes, the comment said, “Did you realise this post 2015.”
When a man at the helm of affairs address public meetings, he should hit the bull’s eye with facts and figures in such a way that people are left with no option but to at least start thinking is it so? He repeatedly calls himself a chowkidar. But then is it not a fact that some economic offenders ran away from the country. The big question is why and how did the chowkidar allow them to slip out. He calls himself a follower of Gandhi ji but is it not a fact that he has imposed tax on cotton and khadi yarn?
Modi also speaks in terms of having given so many lakhs of crore of rupees where ever he goes and claims that in 55 months he had done what the previous regimes did not do in 55 years. But Modi ji needs to answer one question.
When Gadkari visited the state, he said Rs 10 lakh crores were given to the residuary state of AP, Amit Shah said Rs 5 lakh crore and latest figures of Modi ji is Rs 3 lakh crore. It now needs to be cleared whose mathematics is right? Moreover, Modi needs to answer if that is true then what is CAG doing? It is a normal practice that funds to any state are released for that financial year only after CAG audits the accounts.
If PM is right, then does it mean that they were giving money even though the state government did not submit any accounts. If so, is it not violation of Constitution? He spoke of U turn of Naidu. But why did that situation arise. Why did he not talk about Modi Turn? If special category was given question of U Turn perhaps would not have arisen.
He said though he has ten years time he has done in 55 months. But the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 says you have to implement the act in such a way that in ten years the state would be on par with others. Not sit over the assurances for ten years.
Modi says that the good work of NDA has made some people very unhappy and their unhappiness has turned into desperation and abuse for Modi and that elections are fought on one’s vision for the nation not slander and attack.
Yes, the Prime Minister is right but does it not apply to all politicians? No one should criticise me because I am chowkidar but I can lash at all no matter who it is. Only I can sermonise not anybody else. It’s time politics of this nature comes to an end.
