Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT) police arrested two alleged ganja peddlers on Monday and seized 106 kg of ganja worth Rs 15 lakh, a car, two mobile phones and a knife from their possession.
The arrested are M Ganesh (23) and P Sai (19). The police said they were involved in illegal business transportation of ganja for the last few years from Narsipatnam to Hyderabad. They were procuring ganja at a low price from Visakhapatnam agency area and selling it at a higher price in Hyderabad.
Police further said the principal suspect, Ramprasad, who is stall at large, had been procuring ganja at Rs 3,000 a kg and selling it at Rs 10,000 a kg. He used to supply it to customers through his agents, Ganesh and Sai. The police during their routines checking of vehicles found a car carrying 53 ganja packets and seized, the police said.
