Hyderabad: The Chaderghat police solved the kidnapping case of a one-year-old boy within 24 hours and reunited the boy with his mother besides arresting the two accused on Wednesday.
According to police, V Mounika, 23, working as a labourer at Malakpet Market, complained to the police on Tuesday stating that her one-year-old son, Salman was missing. In her complaint, Mounika stated that she slept along with her mother and the boy at 9 pm on Tuesday and when she woke up at 11 pm, she could not find her son. After their search went in vain, Mounika came to know from a fellow a footpath dweller that one auto trolley driver of the market by name Suresh took away her son.
The police started the investigation soon after receiving the complaint and arrested the accused B Suresh, 30, an auto driver and a resident of Ayodhya Nagar Colony in Old Malakpet and M Raj Kumar, 37, a private cook and a resident of Old Malakpet.
Police said the two accused were neighbours and would regularly meet the complainant and other footpath dwellers at Malakpet market. Raj Kumar, who was childless, requested Suresh to arrange for a child from a poor family and offered him Rs 20,000. Suresh soon kidnapped the boy and handed over him to Raj Kumar.
