The makers had held the special screening for the members of the Indian Army, talking about the same, Kaushal said, "Aditya has been saying this since the beginning that it's not just the audience who should be happy with the movie but our army members should also feel proud after watching the film. We wanted URI to show the authenticity of their lives. We have our fingers crossed that they will enjoy the film.

We made this film for them, this is our tribute. This is going to be our litmus test, and we are excited and happy that they have come to see the film."

URI The surgical strike is based on the surgical strike of 2016 carried by the Indian army. the film traces the significant event in the history of the Indian Armed forces.

Vicky Kaushal along with other leading actors of the industry was spotted in the pictures posted with PM Narendra Modi. When asked about the meeting, Vicky said, "We interacted and discussed on how both the parties can help each other. We talked about how the entertainment industry can be further developed like after the previous meeting GST was reduced, we have now talked about one window permission and a few more things. We will talk about it as an when the right time comes.
