I Had An Incredible Year Says Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh says that 2018 has been an incredible year for him and he is happy that his movies worked at the box-office, at the trailer launch of Gully Boy.

Actor Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and entire cast and crew graced the trailer launch of Gully Boy here in Mumbai.

Year 2018 saw Ranveer Singh got married to Deepika Padukone and delivered two massive blockbusters – Padmaavat and Simmba.

Talking about 2018 and his movies making big bucks, whereas other stars movie failing, Raveer said, “All I can say is that films I’ve worked in, they did well, it was an incredible year for me. I really don’t like when someone’s film doesn’t do well at the box-office, because I am also part of this industry and everyone makes their living from the industry. Everyone puts in their hard work and when someone’s film doesn’t do well, I feel really bad, at the same time, when my movie does well, I feel great”

Gully Boy is based on rap music scenario in India, and with Asli Hip Hop from the film ruling the charts, Ranveer Singh says working with rappers has been an experience of a lifetime.

He said, “Those boys are such raw talent when Asli Hip Hop came out with Spitfire and boys, people were asking who is this kid…I am really happy and excited to present them to you, all of them have contributed to the film. Just interacting with them, was one of the fondest memories I will hold with myself for the rest of my life. The entire process and workshops with them, working on dialogues and collaborating on music with them, it’s an experience of a lifetime”

Ranveer Singh also cleared the air about his character, which most people believe is based on popular rapper Naezy. He said, “The character is absolutely original”.

Further adding about the rapping in the film Ranveer said, “Rap in the film is absolutely amazing. The writing is incredible, all the rappers and Spitfire have contributed to the music album”

Gully Boy is written and directed by Zoya Akhtar. It also stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role. It is produced by Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment.

The film is slated for 14th Feb 2019 release.
