In the development for the past eight months, Naga Chaitanya’s film with Krishna RV Marimuthu finally had its muhurat in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Suresh Babu and Sai Korrapati are jointly producing the flick. Filmmaker Gunnam Gangaraju sounded the clapboard for the first shot while SS Rajamouli directed it.
The likes of Vijayendra Prasad and MM Keeravani too attended the do and conveyed their best wishes to the team. Naturally, Krishna is ecstatic. “It felt great to stand amid some towering personalities. The launch made my day and I forgot the delay the film went through,” Krishna, speaking to Talkies, said.
While he doesn’t want dub the film as a thriller, saying it can’t be confined to one genre, he adds that Chay will be juggling between the sets of Kalyan Krishna’s on the floors next and his film. “He’d join our shoot from February third week and we are planning to wrap it up by July. It would be completely shot in Hyderabad,” he says, refusing to share the film’s logline. “It’s pretty early to talk about it.”
A commerce student from Chennai, Krishna breathed music all his life, before deciding to try his luck in filmmaking. “Once I decided to get into films, I started writing short stories. Later I assisted Krish and AL Vijay in the direction department,” he points out, adding that he and Chay go a long way. “We’ve studied in the same school in Chennai and have been friends ever since. He has a very few friends and I’m one among them.
In fact, we even share the same birthday (November 23) too,” he smiles, adding that Chay will not be going through any makeover for the film. Krishna is happy that another good friend, Vivek Sagar (‘#Pellichoopulu’ composer), is on board to render the tunes.
When the director was a drummer, he collaborated with Vivek for some albums. “We are yet to record the numbers for our film but we want to try out a new sound. I want the film to be a great musical experience,” Krishna, who is a lot into western music, avers, signing off.
