Hyderabad: The roads in Shalivahana Nagar Colony near Srinagar Colony that connect Yousufguda have become drivers nightmare as these roads which were dug up for laying Krishna drinking water pipeline five months ago have not been re-laid.

Residents attributed the sorry state of affairs here to lack of coordination among various departments and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Pointing to the potholed-ridden road here, homemaker V Shivani said, “These roads test the driving skills of all motorists using the stretch.

These uneven roads have been resulting in a huge number of accidents, though minor in nature, are a major irritant here. Motorists here are seen arguing frequently when their vehicle bumps into other’s because of the large potholes. We are very wary while travelling on this road.”

Sharing her bitter experience, a resident Sri Laxmi said, “Water from surrounding houses fills these gaps left behind due to uneven filling by workers who executed the water pipeline laying works.”

S Sanjay, a businessman and regular commuter here said, “It is a two-way road and there is no divider. I lost control of my bike several times. As you can see that one side of the road is dug and water has stagnated on the other side. This poses a serious threat to commuters.”
