Rehabilitation of youth implicated in terrorism demanded in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India demanded the government introduce rehabilitation schemes for innocent youth who are falsely charged in terrorism cases.

The SIO released a Student’s Manifesto at a press conference here on Monday.
Addressing the media, SIO national secretary Syed Azharuddin said India is the biggest democratic country across the world.

For the upcoming elections on behalf of all the students and unemployed youth they have prepared a Student Manifesto and demanded that all political parties incorporate it in their election manifesto. He said they have focused mainly on education, youth and human rights.

He said under Right to Education Act, quality education should be imparted to the students. He demanded that reservations to the students should be strictly implemented and scholarships should be issued besides focusing on the health aspects of the poor students.

Right to Education Act 2009 should be implemented strictly. He said that all vacancies in the government and public sector should be filled immediately.

The selection process for government and public sector jobs should be made transparent, fair and efficient. Reservation in public services must be given as per Ranganath Mishra Commission recommendations.

He said under Human Rights, the manifesto also highlights a number of human rights issues and demands the enactment of a comprehensive law to deal with violence against religious minorities and other marginalised communities.

SIO state president Shaik Askari, secretary Abdul Azeez, public relation secretary Syed Luqman and others were present.
