Lover Srinu admits killing Jyothy

Guntur/Vijayawada: In a major twist in the murder of Jyothy near Mangalagiri on February 13, Mangalagiri police said that Chenchu Srinivas, her alleged lover, was the mastermind behind the ghastly crime.

Police on Friday revealed that to mislead the police, Srinivas inflicted injury on himself and claimed that unidentified persons attacked them when they were at a secluded place at night and fled.

However, Jyothy’s family members did not bought his story and alleged his role in the murder. Proving their suspicions right, Mangalagiri police said that the accused Srinivas had confessed to them that to avoid marriage with Jyothi, he had hatched a murder plan and eliminate her.

Jyothy was said to be insisting that he marry her. It is learnt that apart from Srinivas, two of his friends were involved in the murder of Jyothi. In the course of interrogation, he confessed that he had filmed nude films of women by taking them to isolated places and blackmailed them. The police had already taken a woman,who telephoned Jyothy several times on the fateful day and insisted that she met Sreenivas.

Meanwhile, family members of Jyothy and relatives under the aegis of AIDWA staged a dharna at the collectorate in Guntur city on Friday demanding action against Chenchu Srinivas and alleging that the government was trying to protect the accused for BC votes.
