Visakhapatnam: National general secretary of BJP Ram Madhav said that the central government is aiming at financial growth and making best efforts to promote job creators and not job seekers.
Addressing an interactive session organised by the AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) for suggestions for improving ease of doing business and Chambers aspirations to be reflected in BJP Lok Sabha election manifesto 2019 on Thursday, Ram Madhav said that the Unique Selling Proportion (USP) of the Narendra Modi government is for uphold individual’s dignity and every citizen should be stake holder for the development of the nation.
Dwelling more on Taxation, O Naresh Kumar, Director, APCCIF, said IT and GST department should honour any favourable judgment awarded in any high court in India. For this, standing instructions from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) have to be circulated to all departments not to appeal against the tribunal and courts judgments for reducing litigation and create ease of doing business. The GST should be made payable on receipt of money instead of raising invoices. Levy of penalty by IT department should be reduced to 20 per cent- 50 per cent from the range of 50 per cent - 200 percent , Naresh Kumar said.
Highlighting the genuine problems faced by the Exim Trade, M Sudhir, Vice Chairman, APCCIF, said once the Visakhapatnam Port ranked number one, but now it secured fourth position in terms of cargo handling due to severe shortage of Box-N wagons which hit hard evacuation of coal and other bulk cargos from Port to destination.
As a result, there is a huge stockpile of cargo leading to ships waiting at anchorage for want of space. Ultimately, the payment of demurrage is causing additional burden to the importers, he said. ``Need of hour is a wagon manufacturing facilities which would create direct and indirect employment in this region and to ensure seamless movement of cargo through wagons from the port.
He requested to for a national policy on Agriculture for long term outlook instead of ad-hoc policy measures like Minimum Support Price for farmers and reiterated for good storage for farm produce enable the farmers to get the better prices.
