Describing the voteonaccount budget introduced by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu in Assembly on Tuesday, opposition parties YSRCP, Congress, CPI and CPM said that the state government had once again cheated people with its election budget
Vijayawada: Describing the vote-on-account budget introduced by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu in Assembly on Tuesday, opposition parties YSRCP, Congress, CPI and CPM said that the state government had once again cheated people with its election budget.
CPM state secretary P Madhu said that the state government there had been no correlation between the allocation of funds and spending. “The state government announced six new schemes in the budget in view of forthcoming elections.
It showed the allocations in the budget but failed to spend money for specific heads like backward classes welfare. Half of the districts in the state are struggling with drought but the state government has not specified any way to extend help to people. It has not also allocated any funds or announced any plans to save APSRTC in the budget,” he said.
CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna said that there was no real development plans in the budget. He alleged that the government wants to cheat farmers once again before the elections by announcing new fund for them.
He also said that the government did not allocate sufficient funds for ongoing housing scheme. Nearly Rs 15,000 crore funds are required to complete the ongoing housing project, he said. The government is cheating the Dwcra women and unemployed youth with new announcements before the elections, he said.
Congress official spokesperson Kolanukonda Sivaji said that there was a huge gap between allocations and the real spending. “Finance minister Ramakrishnudu made false announcements in the budget speech. The government did not give any legal sanctity to the BC sub-plan. The farmers have never been happy in the last four years,” he said.
YSR Congress official spokesperson and former minister K Pardhasaradhi said that all the programmes mentioned in the budget were already announced by YSR Congress in its Navaratnalu programme. He said that the government introduced budget without any responsibility.
He also pointed out that the government had not announced the amount which would be given to farmers under Annadata Sukhibhava scheme and accused the government of destroying the agriculture sector in the state.
