Annadata Sukhibhava, a new scheme introduced AP Govt for farmers

Amaravati: Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu in his Vote on Account budget for the financial year 2019-20 has introduced a new scheme, called Annadatha Sukhibhava to give economic support to Annadathas(farmers). Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government has allocated Rs. 5,000 crore for this scheme in 2019-20.

The Government has enhanced input subsidies for paddy, sugarcane, cotton and groundnut crops from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000, for maize from Rs. 8,333 to Rs. 12,500, pulses and sunflower crops from Rs. 6,250 to Rs. 10,000. This benefited 39.33 lakh farmers, explained Ramakrishnudu in his Vote on Account speech in Assembly here on Tuesday.

As part of the alleviation of debt burden on the farmers, government already has been implementing the debt redumption scheme with an outlay of around Rs 24,000 crore. It releasd three instalments out of five under the scheme. Ramakrishnudu promised that the final tow installments will be credited to the farmers accounts shortly. For horticulture debt redemption R5384 crore have been credited into 2.23 lakh loan accounts of farmers.

For sustainable enhancement of farm incomes, Government focused on productivity enhancement by increasing micronutrient subsidy to 100%, strengthened extension services through Chandranna Rythu Kshetralu and Polam Pilusthondi programmes. Government also launched Zero Budget Natural Farming, which would boost farm incomes, promote health and protect environment. This model has won accolades across the globe in international fora such as the United Nations and World Economic Forum.

To reduce cost of farming, our Government is promoting mechanization, sharing of mechanical equipment through uberisation and has launched a program to distribute tractors and rotovators with a maximum subsidy of Rs 2.5 lakh.
