Visakhapatnam: The new collector of Visakhapatnam K Bhaskar started showing his style of work on the first day by receiving grievance petitions directly from public at Collectorate on Monday. Overall 283 petitions and 11 grievance calls were received by collector, after assuming charge.
The collector directed the DRO to form a separate committee to identify government lands and convene a meeting on all lands under Section 22A on a weekly basis every Monday. He directed the officials to set up a separate counter for pensioners and ordered the DRDA and DCHS officials to conduct a special drive in the district to ensure that all those eligible get benefits due to them.
During the meet, Collector K Bhaskar directed the marketing authorities to clear the applications for enabling more ryots in Rythu Bazaars. All the farmers were eligible to sell their vegetables in Rythu bazaars. So we should give priority to them by allocating enough space at Rythu bazaars. If all Rythu bazaars were full, then we should come up with setting up new Rythu bazaars in the city, he added.
