Tirumala: On the celestial occasion of Kanuma festival, Paruveta Utsavam was held in Tirumala with religious fervour on Wednesday evening. As a part of this festival, Sri Malayappa Swamy, the processional deity of Lord Venkateswara seated and decorated on one palanquin, accompanied by Sri Krishna Swamy on another Tiruchi (palanquin) reached the Paruveta Mandapam located in deep woods of Seshachala forest range.
Later Sannidhi Golla offered milk and butter to Sri Krishna Swamy which is a customary tradition followed by Harati. Similar prasadams (milk and butter) are also offered to Sri Malayappa Swamy by Sannidhi Golla belonging to Yadava community. This event is followed by rendition of devotional songs by the artistes of Annamacharya Project adding to the devotional spirit.
Afterwards, Sri Malayappa wearing Panchayudhas took part in the mock hunt. The Archakas (priests), on behalf of the God, don the role of hunter, threw the weapons on wild animals and enacted the sport thrice. Devotees also took part in this fun filled religious event and enjoyed the Divine mock hunt. Temple DyEO Harindranath, Peishkar Ramesh, VGO Manohar, Parupattedar Sasidhar and others were present.
