Dokiparru (Krishna): For the first time in South India piped natural gas (PNG) supply connections are being given to every household in Dokiparru village in Krishna district from the auspicious day of Bhogi festival.
MEIL chairman PP Reddy, Managing Director PV Krishna Reddy inaugurated the facility.
Last year also on the same day MEIL inaugurated the potable water facility to every home in the village, according to a communiqué from the MEIL.
Speaking on the occasion, PP Reddy said that with the uninterrupted PNG supply, every housewife in the village will be cheerful and would feel relief from uncertainty of LPG supply on time.
The satellite PNG station was commenced by Rama Reddy, wife of PP Reddy and Sudha Reddy, wife of PV Krishna Reddy.
This is the first time that PNG is supplied in satellite method, PV Krishna Reddy said and requested the villagers to utilise the welfare schemes by MEIL.
There were 250 registrations for PNG supply and 125 connections were already given, he said and added that the rest of the connections will be given soon.
Village sarpanch Rami Reddy and Siva Babu thanked PP Reddy and PV Krishna Reddy for their gesture.
PV Subba Reddy, CEO of the MEIL also took part in the programme.
